Project Highlights

Library to be revitalized to fit in with modern architecture of downtown Edmonton and nearby points of interest
New design features a large internal atrium and exterior windows for more openness and use of natural light
Features of the new library include Thunderbird House, Shelley Milner Children's Library, Makerspaces, Gamerspaces, and a large interactive digital wall

Challenges

Unplanned discoveries in the library's structural integrity lead to a redesign of the original plans
Building framework could not support the original designs which resulted in cost savings initiatives from the building owner

Solutions

Re-evaluate project scope and deliver products according to specifications on a tight budget
Visit the work site to check product usages and advise on achieving maximum product efficiency
